An Egyptian institution active in the field of Media and Cultural Development, focusing on ancient Egyptian culture, GOZOOR seeks to revive authentic Egyptian heritage and identity by integrating it into different aspects of modern life, using arts, culture, and heritage to contribute to global development goals.
Building bridges between cultural actors around the world; advancing economic growth and social entrepreneurship in the arts and culture scene; and enhancing the social cohesion and sustainability of underprivileged community groups in Egypt.
Promoting Egyptian handicrafts mainly made by women in local and vulnerable communities, and organizing communication and arts events. In addition, GOZOOR offers capacity-building programs, arts, and cultural events to promote intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding, cultural hubs and networks, and cultural awareness of identity and heritage.
The project aims at facilitating the sharing of experiences and best practices between three EuroMed countries (Italy, Egypt, and Slovenia), along with promoting the positive impact of intercultural dialogue as a tool to tackle some of the major social, environmental, and cultural challenges within and across societies of the region.
Despite the richness of Egyptian culture and history with distinctive decorations and patterns, none of these decorations are used in contemporary fashion, even women’s fashion. The absence of the Egyptian identity in fashion caught the attention of some Egyptian fashion designers and they decided to revive the Egyptian identity.
